Gospel 5 Judgment – Jews and Gentiles 1 – Gentiles

God is angry with humanity for suppressing the truth about God, changing the image of God for lies and half-truths, and for refusing to honour God, preferring to serve and honour created things instead of the Creator Himself. In proportion … Continue reading

Views of the Messiah

Christians, particularly Protestant Christians, are very used to emphasizing that they have a ‘personal relationship’ with Jesus. There is an attitude of individualism that arose within Protestantism that resulted in each individual Christian placing a focus on their personal relationship … Continue reading

Kingdom in decline – Promises and expectations

Everything seemed ‘on the up’ for the ‘children of Israel’ and God’s promises to Abram, Moses and David seemed to be coming to fulfillment and completion.

Then Solomon and the ‘children of Israel’ broke the Covenant – they strayed and began to worship other gods. Thus began a period of decline, corruption and division. Abraham – Covenant and Promise (4)

When it comes to the gift and allocation by God to Abram of a portion of land, in terms of God’s promises to Abram outside of the later Covenant, Abram did not inherit the land – ‘[God] gave him no inheritance here, not even enough ground to set his foot on. But God promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land, even though at that time Abraham had no child’ (Acts 7 v 2 – 5). So this promise has yet to be fully or completely fulfilled. This land is something that God has promised to those who have faith in God that is credited to them as righteousness, but the ‘children of promise’ have not yet received it. Continue reading
